Joe Furko - General Manager
Joe came to Brookside Golf & Country Club from member-owned Sylvania Country Club, Sylvania, Ohio. Joe was the General Manager and Chief Operation Officer from December 2000 to June 2006. Before Sylvania, Joe was the General Manager at Orchard Hills Country Club in Bryan, Ohio. Joe's other experiences include Catawba Country Club in Newton, North Carolina and internships at Belmont Country Club in Perrysburg, Ohio and Scioto Country Club in Columbus, Ohio.
Joe holds the Certified Club Manager designation and is a member of the Club Managers Association of America. While at Sylvania Country Club, Joe led a very successful member acquisition program, implemented a strategic marketing program to increase member participation in the Club and increased revenues and decreased expenses while maintaining member satisfaction.
Joe is a graduate of Ashland University with a BSBA with a major in Hospitality. Joe, his wife, Brynne and son J.T. live in the Westerville area and enjoy being involved in many community events.

Mark Bechtel- Food & Beverage Manager
Mark is originally from Stow, Ohio. He moved south to Columbus to attend The Ohio State University and as many others have done, never left. Mark has been part of the Brookside family since 2002. He began working here as a server for a college job, but soon found his calling and decided to persue a career in Club Management.
Mark has been involved in all Food and Beverage outlets here at Brookside thoughout the years. Mark is currently continuing his education in a degree in Consumer and Family Finanal Services at The Ohio State University.
Mark lives in Hilliard with his wife Casey and daughter Harper. He enjoys spending time with his family and working on home projects.

Cass Brown - Assistant Golf Professional
Cass comes from Rattlesnake Ridge Golf Club in Sunbury, Ohio where he worked for the past 11 years. He started as a cart barn attendant when he was 17 and worked his way up through the ranks to the position of Assistant Golf Professional which he had occupied for the past two seasons.
Cass has had a life long passion for the game of golf and some of his hobbies include playing basketball, exercising, home improvement projects and spending time with his family.
Cass lives in Westerville with his wife Ashleigh and son Logan.
Jim Callahan - Pool Manager
Jim is a 1981 graduate from The Ohio State University and received a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education. While attending OSU, Jim swam on the Varisty swim team all four years and was named captain his senior year. In 1983, Jim received a degree in Masters of Art in Sports Administration from Northeast Missouri State University and was the Assistant Swim Coach for NMSU in 1982 and 1983.
Jim has been the Worthington High School swim team coach since 1984 and began teaching Physical Education at Brookside Elementary School in 1986 where he still teaches.
Jim was hired as the swim coach and pool manager for Brookside in 1985, and as they say the rest is history. Jim competes in swim events each year at various venues around the country and in August of 2008, Jim posted three top three finishes at the US Swimming Masters Nationals in Mt. Hood, Oregon.
Jim lives in Worthington with his wife Dara. They have three children Kendal, Mackenzie and Keeler.

Rob Dew - Assistant Athletic Director and Personal Trainer
Rob's love for physical fitness began at the age of five when he discovered his skill and excitement for competitive swimming. At Ohio University, Rob specialized in the breaststroke and finished in the top eight in the Mid-American Conference. Rob graduated from OU in 2000 with a Bachelor of Business degree.
Rob has been introduced to a variety of training techniques and theories, including the traditional bodybuilding aspects of exercise to more complex sports medicine perspective. Rob can train with any age, those with illness or injury, in need of significant weight loss or an athlete of any caliber. As a Triathlon Coach, Rob is able to instruct and teach the necessary training methods of bicycling, running, swimming, nutrition and strengh training to compete properly.
Rob credentials include ACE Personal Training Certification, CPR / AED Certified, First Aid Certified, ACE Exercise for Older Adults and is an ACE Lifestyle and Weight Management Consultant.
Rob lives in the Columbus area with his wife Rachel and three sons.

Janet Fletcher - Athletic Facility Director
Sean Fyffe- Dining Room Manager/Wine Sommelier
Sean is a Dublin, Ohio native and has lived in the area his whole life. He attended college at The Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York in 1994. He has also spent time at the Culinary Institute of America at Gray Stone in Napa Valley, California and The Culinary Institute of Tuscany in Fizzano, Italy. Most recently Sean received his level one cerification from the Court of Master Sommeliers. Sean has always had a passion for food, wine and creating a great experience for his guests.
At an early age Sean learned many cooking techniques from his family, growing up in a big Italian family. He fondly remembers making fresh pasta and bread weekly with his grandfather and his great aunt when he was a child. Sean began his career in 1987 and spent many years with The Olive Garden as a General Manager, and then moved on to the hotel business as he worked for the Marriott Corporation (Renaissance Hotels) as a director of operations and then went on to be the general manager for The Mitchell's Fish Market here in Columbus.
Sean currently lives in the Lewis Center area with his wife Hillery, his son Anthony, and daughter Mia. He enjoys spending time with his family along with golfing, fishing, skiing and just being outside.

Lonnie Lane - Controller
Lonnie is a graduate of The Ohio State University with a BSBA Major in Accounting. Lonnie began his career with Greene's Wallace CPA's in 1975. Lonnie has 33 years of experience in both public accounting and industry including 10 years in the hotel business prior to joining Brookside.

Jacqueline comes to Brookside from Phoenix Country Club, Phoenix, AZ. Jacquline grew up in the club industry beginning at Oakmont where she was raised. After Oakmont, the family moved to Dublin. Jacqueline has also worked at Sylvania Country Club in Toledo before moving to Arizona to finish her degree. Jacqueline graduated with a Bachelors of Interdisciplinary studies of Business and Communication.
Jacqueline has had the privilege to be among top professionals in the country club business and excels in member services.

Clint Long - Executive Chef
Clint grew up in a family of great cooks and knew at a very early age that he wanted to be a chef. Upon his graduation from The Pennsylvania Institue of Culinary Arts, Clint worked for the 55 Group, Cornucopia Comestibles and Alana's Food and Wine.
In 2000, Clint opened Food Unlimited Fine Desserts & Custom Catering which provided desserts to local restaurants and catered to clients such as Flying Fish Productions, Franklin County Commissioner Mary Jo Kilroy and Mayor Mike Coleman.
Clint came to Brookside Golf & Country Club in 2004 when he decided to pursue his career in the club industry in which his main focus was in the catering and banquet section of the Brookside Culinary Department. In the fall of 2007, Clint was promoted to Executive Chef.
Clint enjoys spending time with his family, bass fishing and golfing with his friends.

Kris Miller - Assistant PGA Golf Professional
Kris comes from Greenville Country Club's nationally ranked Chanticleer Course in Greenville, South Carolina. Kris received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, TN and received his PGA status in the Fall of 2008.
Kris has had the opportunity to work for two golf teachers of the year recipients and junior golf leaders in other states. He has over 11 years of experience in the golf industry with a strong teaching and club fitting / repair background.
Kris lives in Lewis Center with his wife, Melanie and their daughter, Brittany.

Prior to becoming the head coach of the Men's Tennis Program at Capital University, Rob was a nationally ranked coubles player at Wittenberg University and taught withformer ATP player Billy Martin and professional player / coach Frank Furhman.
With experience as a coach of top American and Mexican Juniors, coupled with his contagious enthusiasm for the game of tennis, Rob is extremely excited to work with both new and veteran players starting as young as 3 years old.

Lauren Schultz, Director of Catering and Sales
Lauren grew up in Springboro, Ohio and moved Columbus in 2001 to attend The Ohio State University. Lauren graduated in 2005 with a Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality Management. She fell in love with Columbus and in true Buckeye fashion, couldn't leave!
Lauren's background is mostly in full service hotels for both Hilton and Marriott brands. Lauren has experience in both the front and back of the house as well as food and beverage. Lauren won the Absolut Master Mixologist Award in 2006. This led her to become involved in the beveage sales industry with Southern Wine and Spirits of Ohio, where she realized her love of sales.
Lauren and her husband, Alex live in Westage with their Chi-weenie dog George.

Carl Wittenauer - Golf Course Superintendent
Carl knew at a young age that he wanted to be out working on a golf course. Carl began his secondary education at Youngstown State University and transferred to The Ohio State University to obtain his Agronomy Degree. While attending OSU, Carl began working part-time for Brookside on the grounds crew.
Upon receiving his degree, Carl became the Assistant Golf Course Superintendent, but not for long (approximately two months) when the current superintendent resigned and Carl was promoted.
Carl has been with Brookside 21+ years and has been through every project both on and off the course.

Brad Zeitner - Head PGA Golf Professional
Brad came to Brookside Golf & Country Club in 2004 from Indian Ridge Country Club in Palm Desert, California, where he was Director of Golf.
Brad holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from Middle Tennessee State and has over 25 years of experience in the golf business, 17 years as a Head Golf Professional, 6 years as an Assistant Golf Professional and 2 years as Director of Instruction. In addition to being the Personal Instructor on the PGA Tour for Guy Boros, he has worked at two nationally recognized clubs; Thunderbird Country Club, Rancho Mirage, California and The Country Club, Brookline, Massachusettes, host of the 1913, 1963 and 1988 U.S. Open and the 1999 Ryder Cup.
